“What’s one thing you’re grateful for that you didn’t have a year ago?”
Whether it’s peace, progress, or your growing bookshelf, take a few minutes this week to write it down. Gratitude grows when you put it on paper
🔥 Lit or Miss by Becky
A monthly dose of real talk about what I’m reading — the good, the bad, and the “why did I start this?” books. No fluff, no filters, just my honest take.
Katabasis by R.F. Kuang
I just finished Katabasis by R.F. Kuang — and honestly, it was a tough read. The story follows two students who travel to hell to rescue their professor, but it’s just as much about guilt, grief, and ambition as it is about the journey itself.
Kuang’s writing is beautiful, but it’s dense. The pacing dragged for me in places, and I had to reread sections to stay connected. It’s dark, emotional, and full of meaning, but it didn’t completely pull me in.
I didn’t love it, but I respect what Kuang was trying to do. If you liked Babel and want something heavier and more philosophical, this might be your thing. I just wanted a little more heart and a little less despair.
